A Birthday Party of Service

Neha, a former LFFP volunteer and University of Maryland alumni, threw herself a birthday party of service with LFFP. She invited her friends to join her and the Sursum Corda children in the Peace Room at Perry. At check-in she explained to everyone that she felt the best way to celebrate her life is to come to where her life is positively impacted as an annual volunteer with her sorority, Delta Phi Omega, Inc. Zeta Chapter. From her desire to reconnect with MJ and LFFP and to give, rather than receive the whole group of party goers and peace children enjoyed the afternoon full of crafts, communicating, and of course, birthday cake! At the end of the day, Ann shared a moving poem from the perspective of the children in which she described their emotion and pride in being chosen to participate in this special day.
