Peace Pole Planting at Perry School

In our neighborhood that has been in the news so many times for violence, crimes and drugs now stands a Peace Pole.

Yesterday's sunny Monday afternoon saw the Perry School of Sursuma Corda plant a Peace Pole amidst the flower filled garden that was created this summer. The Peace Pole reads, May Peace Prevail on Earth, that it may also prevail in our neighborhood and wider communities. It was a great event of peace and so hearting to have the support of so many from the Perry School, the most comprehensive anti-poverty collaboration in D.C. with whom work and share building space.

A perfect way way to celebrate the International Day of Peace and a lasting treasure to remind us to make everyday peaceful.
