Family Night at Beacon House

On Friday, Little Friends for Peace contributed to Beacon Houses’ Family Night by guiding the families in making “Gratitude Jars.” Together, each family painted a jar. Then, they wrote what they are grateful for on slips of paper and put the paper in the decorated jar. Now, they can take the slips out from time to time and remind themselves of all that brings them peace in their family. As we spent this time appreciating our families, we also engaged in a discussion about spreading peace with others who are not as fortunate to have family. We talked of ways our families can be welcoming and loving to those folks, offering them some benefits of family too.
